All the rage at the moment are firepits and braziers. They add light, warmth and looks to any garden.
Picture this…you’re entertaining with a BBQ or a few drinks, the light draws in and all you need is a bit of warmth and a little extra light to keep things going. Enter the firepit or brazier.
They come in all different shapes, sizes and styles, from rustic to contemporary.
Firepits
A typical firepit is the Hotspot Safety Firepit. It is a small, round firepit that is very popular with families and pet owners. The spark guard around the pit allows piece of mind when children or pets are around. The safety firepit is just the job for small get togethers, gives off a good amount of heat and also a moderate amount of light.
Other firepits can also be used as small grillers. The Lifestyle Burnished Copper Firepit is a rustic looking firepit with a small grate mounted at the top for grilling. Small kebabs are the finger food of choice for this.
The daddy of all Firepits though is the Roundstar Gas Firepit. This is for the regular host. It runs off a small 5kg patio gas bottle which fits inside the firepit itself which hides the gas bottle and means it’s easy to use and easy to set up. Looks are stunning and it is a real centre piece on any patio. It also has a centre lid so the Roundstar can easily be transformed into a table.
Braziers
The Urban Brazier is available in two sizes small and medium. This stylish brazier is constructed from heavyweight cast iron and includes a stainless steel protective bar, a hinged cooking grill and spark guard. It offers an ideal focal point for all evenings, providing the versatility of both a BBQ and a Brazier. The firebowl is big enough to fit enough logs, charcoal or coal for a good blaze, and there is also a hinged chrome grill included for occasional cooking. The bowl incorporates a drip and ash tray for all surplus waste.
The Hotspot Square Brazier is a designer firepit with stainless steel legs. Comes complete with double grill, therefore dual purposes BBQ or firepit. The square brazier adds the experience of a real fire feeling by providing atmospheric light and heat on your deck or patio. It’s suitable for all solid fuels and includes two cooking grills.
Now my favorite of all the firepits and braziers is the Grilltech Space Brazier 800. Even though this is named like a NASA project it is infact a quality brazier and also doubles up as grill.
The grill itself is on a pivot that you can swing from over the fire to away from it.
Features include:
• All 304 grade stainless twin adjustable cooking grills and handles
• 4mm firebowl with 1100 degree thermal paint
• Twin chopping boards
• Top grill, wok holder
• Removable ash collector and variable ventilation system
• 800mm firebowl
After the meal the stainless steel cooking grills slide out and the grill can be converted into a brazier providing the perfect ending to the evening.
